Meals on Wheels...

Following is a list of meals to be served this month in the Mid-county area by Meals on Wheels. Meals are served at noon, Monday through Friday, at the Cherry Blossom Senior Services Office in the East Portland Community Center, 740 S.E. 106th Ave. There is a suggested donation of $3. Participants are asked to pay what they can comfortably afford. For more information, please call the Cherry Blossom Meals on Wheels at 503-256-2381.

In addition to the daily selection, Meals on Wheels provides milk and a choice of coffee or tea with each meal. Meals on Wheels offers an alternative main dish with each meal. Both choices appear in capitals. Side dishes follow and will be included with either selection.

Also, Cherry Blossom Center of Meals on Wheels reminds area seniors that its regular services include Asian cuisine made from scratch on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Friday, Feb. 1: BAKED FISH with Tartar Sauce and Rice Pilaf or BARBECUE MEATBALL SANDWICH with Scandinavian Vegetables, Chick Pea Salad, Carrot Cake

Monday, Feb. 4: BEEF BURGUNDY over Rotini Noodles or CHEESE OMELET and Mushroom Sauce with Capri Mix, Italian Coleslaw, Lime Applesauce Gelatin

Tuesday, Feb. 5: ROAST PORK with Barbecue Sauce and Tri-Cut Potatoes or VEGETABLE PIZZA and Southwest Bean Soup with Oregon Bean Medley, Tossed Salad with Ranch Dressing, Orange

Wednesday, Feb. 6: MEAT LASAGNA or TOMATO BASIL VEGGIE BURGER with Green Beans, Claremont Salad, Sugar Cookie

Thursday, Feb. 7: BATTERED FISH with Lemon Dill Sauce or CHICKEN SALAD SANDWICH with Red Potatoes, Baby Carrots, Tossed Salad with Thousand Island Dressing, Banana

Friday, Feb. 8: SWEDISH MEATBALLS over Egg Noodles or CRAB QUICHE with Winter Mix, Carrot Raisin Salad, Russian Crème with Berry Topping

Monday, Feb. 11: BEEF and MACARONI CASSEROLE or TURKEY SANDWICH with Peas, Red and White Slaw, Pears

Tuesday, Feb. 12: CHICKEN PROVENCE and Rice or ROAST PORK and Gravy with Scandinavian Vegetables, Oriental Salad, Apple

Wednesday, Feb. 13: DIJON CRUSTED FISH and Tri-Cut Potatoes or VEGETABLE LAZAGNA with Peas and Carrots, Tossed Salad with Italian Dressing, Peanut Butter Pie

Thursday, Feb. 14: BREADED PORK with Gravy and Rice or FRENCH DIP SANDWICH and Italian Wedding Soup with Winter Mix, Four Bean Salad, Banana

Friday, Feb. 15: CHICKEN TETRAZZINI and Vegetarian Dinner Blend, Spinach and Red Cabbage Salad or TORTELLINI SALAD with Chocolate Chip Cookie

Modified diets available with a doctor's prescription: soft, low sodium, diabetic and low cholesterol.
