Meals on Wheels...

Following is a list of meals to be served this month in the Mid-county area by Meals on Wheels. Meals are served at noon, Monday through Friday, at the Cherry Blossom Senior Services Office in the East Portland Community Center, 740 S.E. 106th Ave. There is a suggested donation of $3. Participants are asked to pay what they can comfortably afford. For more information, please call the Cherry Blossom Meals on Wheels at 503-256-2381.

In addition to the daily selection, Meals on Wheels provides milk and a choice of coffee or tea with each meal. Meals on Wheels offers an alternative main dish with each meal. Both choices appear in capitals. Side dishes follow and will be included with either selection.

Also, Cherry Blossom Center of Meals on Wheels reminds area seniors that its regular services include Asian cuisine made from scratch on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Wednesday, Dec. 4: BAKED FISH with Lemon Dill Sauce or SWEDISH MEATBALLS and Rice Pilaf, Scandinavian Vegetables, Tossed Salad with French Dressing, Peanut Butter Pie

Thursday, Dec. 5: CHICKEN TETRAZZINI or PORK and BARBECUE SAUCE with Italian Beans, Claremont Salad, Orange

Friday, Dec. 6: SALISBURY STEAK, Gravy and Colcannon or BROCCOLI TOMATO QUICHE with Flavor Fiesta Vegetables, Garden Salad with Italian Dressing, Strawberry Luscious

Monday, Dec. 9: SWEET and SOUR CHICKEN and Brown Rice or BLACK BEAN NACHO PIZZA with Green Beans, Cucumber Salad, Apple

Modified diets available with a doctor's prescription: soft, low sodium, diabetic and low cholesterol.
