Blood mobile at Parkrose Farmer's Market
The supply of type O negative blood at the American Red Cross has dropped to critically low levels. Type O negative blood is always in high demand because it can be transfused to patients with any blood type, especially in emergency situations. Type O negative donors are needed now to help prevent the type O negative blood supply from declining further.

While all blood types are needed during the summer months, the Red Cross urges eligible donors with O negative, B negative, and A negative type blood to make and keep appointments in the upcoming days to help restore the blood supply.

To help fill this need, an American Red Cross Blood Mobile will be at the Parkrose Farmers Market, 12003 N.E. Shaver St., on Saturday, July 2, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Walk ups will be welcomed, but there was a long line last year, so be sure to get there early.

Individuals who are 17 years of age, meet weight and height requirements and are in generally good health may be eligible to give blood. Please bring your Red Cross blood donor card or other form of positive ID when you come to donate.

If this blood drive is not convenient for you please call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit redcrossblood.org to find another one and to make an appointment.
