HOLIDAY BAZAARS The Gateway Elks Lodge Elkette Bazaar is Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 1 and 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition to the 25 vendors and craftsman who will show their wares, the Elkettes will offer pastries and sandwiches for a nominal fee. The St. Rita Catholic Church Fall Festival and Bazaar is set for Friday and Saturday, Nov. 7 and 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. New vendors and old, a boutique, baked goods, fresh produce and a Santas Secondhand Shop will entice shoppers. The St. Therese Parish 27th annual Holiday Bazaar is Friday, Nov. 7 and Saturday, Nov. 8. The event begins with the traditional sparkling punch evening on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. On Saturday, the bazaar hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Enjoy the talents of many craftspeople as well as traditional baked goods, used books, a movies and music corner, and wonderful raffle items along with snacks and luncheon delights. REUNIONS Parkrose class of 1988 The Parkrose High School class of 1988 will begin its reunion weekend at the PHS homecoming game on Friday, Oct. 17. They invite all PHS grads to join them in cheering for the Broncos as they battle Madras on the gridiron. The class of 88 hopes to revive the tradition of welcoming former residents and alumni to this annual family event. Kids are welcome. Kickoff is 7 p.m. On Saturday they will gather at the Lotus Cardroom and Café in downtown Portland for good food, lively conversation, and an awesome DJ spinning 80s tunes all night. No-host bar. 21 and over please. Tickets for both events are $35 per person or $55 per couple. THE ARTS Enjoy a free harp concert As part of a continuing effort to bring neighbors together, Cherry Park United Methodist Church will host a free harp concert on Sunday, Oct. 5. The church was awarded a musical grant through the East County Neighborhood Grant Association to foster interaction between the nearby CherryWood Village Retirement Community, the Hazelwood and Mill Park neighborhoods and local businesses. While the concert is free, a nonperishable food item for SnowCap Community Charities is requested. Something (musical) for everyone, and tea too The Monday Musical Club of Portland will present a musical sampler concert and high tea at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 19 at Rivercrest Community Church, 3201 N.E. 148th Ave., to benefit its youth scholarship fund. Performances will showcase both instrumentalists and vocalists and will include a recent youth scholarship winner and the Monday Musical Club Womens Chorus.
